A woman is fighting for life after a serious crash between two cars in Perth’s northern suburbs.

The crash happened at the intersection of Rangeview Rd and Hepburn Ave in Alexander Heights about 10.50am on Wednesday.

The driver of a Mazda 3 sedan, a 42-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries when her car and a Toyota Supra coupe collided.

She was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

The Toyota driver, a 21-year-old man, avoided injury in the smash.

A local resident was returning home when he came across the crash.

“The lady looked in pain... it was just horrific,” Abhishek Vys told 7NEWS.

“We pray for the best. Hopefully she stays alive.”

Major Crash is now investigating and has appealed for information from witnesses.
