Wigged TV thief nabbed after blonde disguise fails

A man has been arrested after allegedly donning a disguise before stealing a number of televisions from a Sydney hotel.

The 37-year-old allegedly went to a hotel in Sussex Street at 5am on Wednesday and stole six TVs while wearing a long blonde wig.

Authorities raided a home in Blaxland, west of Sydney, on Thursday and seized the TVs and a gel blaster.

Police then pulled the accused thief over on the Central Coast, finding several wigs in his car along with illegal drugs.

Among nine charges, the man has been hit with one count of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence.

The other charges include entering a building with the intent to commit an indictable offence, disposing of stolen property and having goods in his custody suspected of being stolen.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Wyong Local Court on Friday.
