A luxurious Wodonga house has been listed on the market for more than $2 million.

The six-bedroom, five-bathroom house at 63 Castle Creek Road, has an estimated sales range between $2.45 million to $2.55 million with agent Tiago Neves from First National Real Estate Bonnici and Associates.

The listing is one of the highest priced in Wodonga, with another property at 2 McGaffins Road in West Wodonga on the market with a price guide between $2.6 million and $2.9 million.

The property has never previously been listed and has been on the market for just over two weeks.

Mr Neves said there has so far been two inspections of the property by two Border families and he was hoping for an offer within the next week.

The property has a tennis court, water slide and seven-car garage.

“It’s the whole package, there’s nothing that they haven’t thought of,” Mr Neves said.

“There are five bathrooms, a changing room for the pool, a rumpus room.

“It ticks all the boxes, you’ve got a dedicated wing for visitors, there’s a self-contained area at the front if you need to have a parent live with you for example.”

The 2811 square meter land parcel has solar power and backs on to a walking track.

The house is perfect for entertaining, with an inside/outside bar, outdoor dining space and large butler’s pantry.

There is also an automatic lawn sprinkler system and home security.

Mr Neves has seen a rise in houses selling over $1 million on the Border.

“I think last year we sold over 34 homes that were over $1 million,” he said.

“It is certainly more of the norm than two or three years ago.”

The median house price in Wodonga is $541,000, according to CoreLogic.

One of the owners of the property told The Border Mail she loves the front entryway to the home.

She said the space had been used as a catwalk for a former ladies wear boutique on Wodonga’s High Street, 2 Red Apples.

“We had a fashion parade there one day within the first couple of months of moving in, the models got dressed up in the front room and used our entrance as a runway and it was fantastic,” she said.

She said she did not like the idea of having a shed in the backyard, so instead included a workshop underneath the two-storey house.

The owners are selling to downsize to a property in Bonegilla.

“It’s a brilliant home and it’s basically served its purpose for us,” she said.

Bright Alpine Builders Steve Graves designed the 12-month build which he finished in 2010, alongside architects from Melbourne.

He said the owner called him asking him to build his home and wanted him to design one with every inclusion.

He said the property has “beautiful textures and finishes” including a zinc coat and modern stone joinery.

“At the time it was all the latest we could possibly build using the most modern techniques,” Mr Graves said.

He said the structural steel frame home has several different floor layers, with notable features including a lift well for a dumb waiter and north-facing decks.

“There was a lot of organising in it,” he said.

“The client wanted the best and he got the best, it is a beautiful home.”

The builder said he was surprised to hear the house was on the market.
