Wyong murder: Police reportedly investigate cannibalism after 4yo found dead, mother charged with murder
Australian police have reportedly launched an investigation into whether cannibalism was involved in a four-year-old boy’s death, after his mother was charged with his murder.

Australian police have launched an investigation into whether cannibalism was involved after a mother was charged with the murder of her four-year-old son on Saturday.
According to the Daily Mail, a 32-year-old woman was charged with murder (domestic violence) after she reported to the Wyong Police Station on New South Wales’ central coast just before 5pm.
The visit to the police station — which was of the woman’s own accord — prompted police to conduct a welfare check at a Byron Street property, where the four-year-old boy was reportedly found deceased with “significant” arm injuries.

The 32-year-old woman was known to police, and was charged with the boy’s murder on Sunday.
NSW Police Superintendent Chad Gillies says the alleged murder scene was “extremely confronting” for officers when the boy’s body was found.
“It’s been confirmed the child had injuries. I am not going to speculate further on what those injuries are,” Superintendent Gillies said.
“We try to understand what’s happened, why it’s happened, and from my perspective, we owe that to that little boy to make sure that we get the exact circumstances and present them to the court in due course.”
According to the Daily Mail, the accused did not report to court for a bail hearing on Sunday.
The case returns to court on September 1.
