Barbeques Galore goes into receivership with 500 jobs at risk

Receivers from global advisory firm Ankura were put into Barbeques Galore on Thursday by the company’s secured creditor, reportedly after directors appointed administrators from Grant Thornton.

Retail chain Barbeques Galore has gone under, threatening up to 500 jobs, just months after being sold to a US private equity group.

Receivers from global advisory firm Ankura were put into Barbeques Galore on Thursday by the company’s secured creditor, reportedly after directors appointed administrators from Grant Thornton.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, Barbeques Galore has more than 90 stores around the country employing nearly 500 people.
