“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.
“This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
The update comes after Grande has been the subject of public discourse over her physical appearance.
On July 31, the three-time Grammy Award winner released a music video for Petal, the namesake of her latest album.
Fans have said Grande appears to be “wasting away” and that she looks “very, very unwell” because of her thin frame.
Actress Jameela Jamil aired her concerns, calling the video “dangerous”.
“This poor woman is possibly dying right in front of us,” she wrote on social media.
The film clip has more than 54,000 comments, many of which are expressing concern about the 33-year-old’s health.
Grande was supposed to be performing in West End’s revival of Sunday in the Park in George by Stephen Sondheim mid-next year.
She was cast alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey, but will now no longer be a part of the production.
Producers Empire Street Productions confirmed she would not be involved.
“Following this evening’s announcement from Ariana Grande’s team, Empire Street Productions can confirm that she has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George,” a spokesperson said in a statement published on social media.
“We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support.
“We wish her nothing but the best.
“The production will open at the Barbican in summer 2027 as planned, and casting will be announced in due course.”
In 2023, Grande addressed the public’s concerns over her weight, which was often compared to younger photos.
“The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,” she said.
“I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly.
“(I was) at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”
