“So I’m now in palliative care and I am at end-of-life care now in the hospital,” she said in the video.

“ The chemo ran out of options, and I just couldn’t take any more of it,” she said, explaining the cancer “has spread, so it looks like this will be getting to near the end of it.

“It’s really difficult to speak about this and say it to people.”

The 'Be Faithful' rapper was pronounced dead at 53 after collapsing on stage.

She went on to acknowledge the hospital staffers, friends and family who had been supporting her.

“It is devastating news to know that I’m facing the end of life but we all come to an end sometime,” she went on.

“I don’t know how long I’ve got left before anybody asks. I’m not on TikTok so I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you’ve given me.”

Godley wished her followers a Merry Christmas before adding, “I might be here, who knows?”

“But I just want you to know I’m sending all my love to people living with a life-limiting disease.”

The comedian had to cancel her Why Is She Still Here? tour on September 19 after developing sepsis.

“It is with huge sadness that we must announce the cancellation of Janey Godley’s Autumn 2024 tour,” the statement, posted to Godley’s Instagram, read.

“Janey has been living with stage 4 ovarian cancer for the past few years and the treatment from the wonderful Scottish NHS has kept the disease at bay, but sadly in the last few weeks the cancer has returned and there have been a few added complications.

“Her doctors have now advised her that she must stop work for the foreseeable future.”

“Janey is devastated to let down her 1000s of loyal fans, and the wonderful venues, she has played many times over the years.

“She would like to thank everyone for their love and support at this difficult time.”

Katy Perry has spilled the activity at the top of her list while exploring Melbourne.

Godley added in an Instagram caption that “the cancer has spread and the Beatson cancer team have advised me to stop work.

“I am currently in hospital with sepsis ( it’s under control).”

Born as Janey Currie and then becoming Janey Storrie after marriage, the comedian decided to take on the stage name of Godley.

She previously said in a post on her website that she told her husband: “I don’t want to be Janey Storrie any more, because your family let me down, and I don’t want to be Janey Currie because my family let me down.

“I’m going to use my middle name and legally become Janey Godley. The only family who haven’t let me down are the Godleys because I don’t know them.”

Her stand-up career commenced in 1994 and she went on to make myriad TV appearances and do spoof voice-overs for videos.

In 2020, she won the Scots Language Awards’ Speaker of the Year Award.

A year later she announced she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and was being treated in hospital.

After having a full hysterectomy in January 2022 she said she was cancer-free.

However by December that year the cancer had returned.
