Deborra-Lee Furness looks downcast as seen for first time after reports of Hugh Jackman’s engagement surfaced

Deborra-lee Furness has been spotted looking dispirited after news that ex-husband Hugh Jackman had got engaged.

The 70-year-old actress was photographed stepping out in New York with their daughter Ava shortly after news broke of Jackman and Sutton Foster’s engagement.

The mother and daughter rugged up on the streets with matching fluffy white hats and coats.

It comes just after a year since Jackman and Broadway actress Foster took their relationship public, with reports suggesting they have made plans to marry and are “head over heels in love”.

The New York-based pair enjoyed a sunny getaway in Costa Rica over the new year break, where New Idea claims the Wolverine star spontaneously popped the question.

“It wasn’t a shock to Sutton as it’s something they’ve been talking about,” a source told the publication.

“But Hugh did get down on one knee and she is in the possession of a diamond solitaire she’ll show off when they’re ready.”

It is believed Jackman, 57, and Foster, 50, have already begun searching for a wedding location, with the central American nation a potential suitor.

Jackman and Furness finalised their divorced in June 2025 after their public separation in September 2023.

Foster’s divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin has not been finalised after they split in October 2024.

It’s understood the pair are waiting for the legal runway to be cleared before officially planning any nuptials.
