An actor best known for their role in Emily in Paris has passed away after battling an incurable disease.

French actor Pierre Deny has died at the age of 69 following a short health battle with a terminal neurological disease.

Tributes began to pour in following the actor’s passing, with his co-star of seven years, Luce Mouchel, sharing a touching post reflecting on their friendship.
“Pierre, 7 years of filming together, taking the train together, having lunch at the canteen together, sometimes confiding, inviting each other from time to time and congratulating you for your hidden cooking talent, meeting our girls, clapping at the theatre, calling each other ‘Doctor’ usually, and I forget,” Mouchel wrote on Instagram.
“A short decade of shared life that should not have ended so quickly and so brutally. I’m thinking of your daughters and their exceptional courage.
“Thinking of you, my last visit and your sparkling eyes, rest in peace, Dr. Dumaze.”
Deny had an extensive career in film and TV beginning in the 1980s, starring in French shows including Demain Nous Appartient, Plus Belle la Vie and Une Femme d’Honneur.
He became well known on the global screen for his part as Louis de Leon in the third and fourth seasons of Emily in Paris.

Just last week the Netflix show’s lead star, Lily Collins, shared online that filming of the series’ sixth and final season was underway.
“Annnnnd we’re back — for the last time. @emilyinparis takes on Greece (and of course France) for one final, epic adventure. Let’s make it the most incredibly special season yet!…” she wrote on Instagram.
Deny’s death comes after Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane died following a ten month long battle with ALS.
Dane died in a Los Angeles hospital with his wife Rebecca Gayheart and two daughters by his side in February.
ALS, the most common specific type of MND and term often used in the US and UK alongside Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurological disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, according to MND Australia.
Patients with ALS eventually lose voluntary movement, their speech and ability to breathe as the disease causes muscles to weaken and deteriorate. There is no cure.
