Australians Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi and Fiona Crombie have continued their awards season hot streak, picking up nominations at the BAFTA Awards.

Byrne secured a nod among the finalists for best actress, for her role in tense drama-comedy If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, as did Elordi in the race for supporting actor for his performance in Frankenstein.

Crombie was nominated for costume design for her work in Hamnet, as she was at the Oscars.

The British accolades gave the most nominations to One Battle After Another, the Paul Thomas Anderson political revolutionaries drama-comedy-thriller, with a tally of 14 mentions, followed by Sinners with 13.

Marty Supreme and Hamnet also performed strongly with 11 nods, while Sentimental Value and Frankenstein chalked up eight nominations apiece.

British films that weren’t recognised by the American Oscars, I Swear managed five nods, while The Ballad of Wallis Island and Pillion had three each.

Wicked: For Good, which was filmed in the UK and shut out completely from last week’s Oscar nominations, were nominated in two craft categories, costume design and hair and make-up.

The BAFTAs ceremony will take place on February 22 and will be hosted by actor and presenter Alan Cumming.
