Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness divorce: Actor was ‘extremely disappointed’ by bombshell ‘betrayal’ claims

Hugh Jackman has fired back after ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness implied there had been a “betrayal” on his part that ended their 27-year marriage.
After filing for divorce on May 23, almost two years after announcing their shock separation, Furness, 69, spoke to the Daily Mail about navigating “the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage” following a “traumatic journey of betrayal”.
“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep,” she said.

But the bombshell claims are said to have completely blindsided the Wolverine actor.

An anonymous source told The Daily Mail that Jackman was “extremely disappointed” by his ex-wife’s allegations.
It is believed the former couple had an “unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press.”
“She got around this by not naming him — instead focusing on how she felt,” the source explained.
“Hugh knows that he cannot change anything, and it is unfortunate that Deb feels the way she did, given the fact that he caved in to all of her divorce requests.”
There were reports of the former couple struggling earlier this year to divvy up their estimated $250 million fortune after it was discovered the pair didn’t have a prenup signed, but Furness believes “she got what she deserved.”
It is believed their marriage began to unravel during COVID, which is around the same time Jackman struck up a friendship with Sutton Foster, his co-star on the hit Broadway revival of The Music Man.
The Aussie superstar actor was recently spotted taking the next step with Foster, 50.
The pair were photographed in New York City after Foster left Jackman’s Chelsea apartment, fuelling speculation that the couple had moved in together.
It appears that Jackman is not letting the headlines trip him up, after finally landing his skipping choreography in the Broadway revival of The Music Man.
