John Barrowman: Doctor Who star under fire for complaining about business class flight service

Former Doctor Who star John Barrowman has come under fire for an ‘entitled’ rant after he complained about not receiving complimentary pyjamas on a business class flight.

Barrowman, 59, was on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to London when he posted a now-deleted video to X, slamming the airline for not providing pyjamas and getting his meal order wrong, according to news.com.au.

The actor began his rant to the camera while sitting in his business class seat, as his husband Scott Gill and father, who is also named John Barrowman, sat behind him.

“Hi American (Airlines) we have paid for the flagship service. . .the tickets were very expensive and we get on thinking we’d get pyjamas with the flagship service,” Barrowman said.

“Then you apparently only give them to the first two rows in business class. What’s that all about?

“So far you’re not batting very high.”

Barrowman went on to explain the cabin crew had given him the wrong meal, despite placing an order earlier.

“Meal order wrong and then told we don’t have exactly what everyone else is getting on the flight when we all have flagship service,” he said.

“Can you explain? Thank you.”

X users were quick to ridicule the “diva” Barrowman for the seemingly first-world problem.

“The entitlement is off the scale,” one person said.

“Stop moaning about a pair of pyjamas, if you paid business class you can afford a pair yourself!,” another said.

“Our thoughts are with John Barrowman at this difficult time,” a third said.

However, some people defended the Scottish-American actor for voicing his concerns about the lack of service.

“I’m in no way a fan of John Barrowman, but how do people have an issue with him asking for something he’s paid for?,” one person said.

“To be fair if you pay a lot of money for a service then I’d expect the service I paid for,” another said.
