Logies 2026: Comedian and TV presenter Sam Pang wins the coveted Gold Logie

Sam Pang has been awarded highest honour in Australian TV after winning the Gold Logie at the 2026 TV Week Logies Awards.
In a somewhat surprising win, Pang beat out a stacked cast for the top gong including the likes of Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, Ally Langdon, Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow and Todd Woodbridge.
A showman and comedian, Pang accepted the award with his typical humour and wit, starting his speech out with a few jokes.

“Being here the last three years I know what we all need, I’m gonna keep this very short.”
Before changing his tune to show thanks for the accolade.
“I wanted to say, it’s a big honour,” Pang said.
“I am very, very lucky, and very grateful to be a part of (the Australian TV industry).”
The award demonstrates his commitment as one of the hardest working men in Australian TV.
Pang shouted out the two programs that Aussies tune into regularly in Have You Been Paying Attention? and The Front Bar.
“The two shows that I work on have two things in common, they both started off small with wonderful production staff,” he said.
“And they’re both hosted by old men who shouldn’t be on television.”
A class act, Pang gave special thanks to the comedians he works alongside with Have You Been Paying Attention?’s co-stars Tom Gleisner and Ed Kavalee, and The Front Bar’s co-hosts Andy Maher and Mick Molloy.
“I can’t believe I know them and get to work with both (Gleisner and Molloy) of them,” he said.
“They’re very funny men, but they’re also very generous.
“And they only want what’s the best. There’s no competition.”
The comedian also hosts his own show Sam Pang Tonight and played the lead character in the new comedy series Ground Up.
Having hosted the award show in its previous three iterations, Pang tipped his cap to this year’s skipper and fellow Gold Logie nominee Robert Irwin.
“What a wonderful job he’s done,” Pang said.
“22-years-old. I have neckties older than him.”
