Made in Chelsea star Molly Paradice sparks backlash over ‘insensitive’ video after Coogee Beach shark attack
The reality star has since deleted the video.
A reality TV star known for appearing on Made in Chelsea and its Australian spin-off Made in Bondi, has been slammed online for posting a video online during Saturday’s shark attack at Sydney’s Coogee Beach.
In a since-deleted TikTok, Molly Paradice explained how she had been in the water at Bondi beach at the time of the incident.
The 25-year-old described her ordeal using the ‘put a finger down’ trend where participants lower a finger when a statement applies to them.

Paradice says she initially ignored the shark alarm and continued swimming until she heard lifeguards over the speaker urging people in the water to get back to shore.
She continues: “So, you start swimming as fast as you can f**king swim. You’re hundreds of metres from any land because you’re too lazy to walk around to where you should swim, you just swim off a random rock. And then you think to yourself, “F**k, this actually could be how I go.”
Paradice says she was then rescued by a fisherman couple on a boat and taken to a nearby rock.
“You climb up on the rock. The couple next to you tells you that a lady was bitten in Coogee, which is like, a few beaches over this morning. She’s in critical condition in hospital, and now you’re just sitting on the rock, a little rattled about that, and reconsidering your life choices.
“Put a finger down if that was you. Oh my god, oh my god,” she says before starting to laugh.

The shark attack victim has since been identified as 35-year-old Leah Stewart. Ms Stewart suffered critical injuries, including multiple bites to her arms and legs, lacerations and fractures throughout her body, her family said.
Ms Paradice’s video quickly drew criticism online, with users branding the video ‘insensitive’.
One user commented “fascinating to see such a lack of social awareness” meanwhile another said “It’s not about you!”
People were quick to urge the star to delete the video, with many comments asking why she thought it was a good idea to post the video in the first place.
“This is an odd video to post,” one TikTok user stated.
“What’s so funny?” another said.
