Tate Ryan goes through to the last four.
Tyler Rorke gave him a long lead and the Aussie took full advantage.
The man from South Australia likes the distance races and used his endurance to burn the Canadian.
Barber falls
D.J Barber is out.
He took the front heading into the final lap as Hoffman did but Nic Paul levelled with him and then kept him on the outside.
The Aussie could not get position into the last corner and swings away.

Leigh Hoffman has taken down the Malaysian with raw power.
They had a bit of a false start as Mohd Awang suffered a flat but the Aussie to the front position to start the final lap and just powered straight through to a win.
He goes through to the final four of the men’s sprint.
First race goes to Wales
Perth’s Kane Perris will need to be perfect to contend for the gold medal after dropping the first tadem sprint race.
He and pilot Luke Zaccaria were on the outside and couldn’t close the gap, now needing to win out in the best of three contest.

Off to quarter final
Back at the velodrome, the Aussie men went to work and are all through to the sprint quarter finals.
Tate Ryan and Daniel barber made like work of their race. They have little time to rest with the quarter finals up shortly.
Australian triple triumph
It’s a clean sweep for Australia taking out gold, silver and bronze in the 10km women’s race walk final.
After cruising in second place for a majority of the race, Jemima Montag blazed past her teammate to win her third straight Commonwealth Gold. Clocking a PB with 42.13.40.
Elizabeth McMillen would be feeling frustrated after being pipped by her teammate but will hold her head high with the silver medal in a flawless run.
While Rebecca Henderson ran uninterrupted throughout the final, trailing the two big guns but cleared plenty of space between her and the pack to bring home bronze.
Montag bursts to the lead
Jemima Montag has kicked into another gear, blasting past Elizabeth McMillen who has lead for the first 8km of the race walk final.
She needs to be flawless in the final laps after receiving two faults, one more red card will put her in the penalty box.
Hoff the Man
Gold medal fancy Leigh Hoffman bested Canadian Cole Dempster in the eighth final of the men’s sprint at the velodrome.
There are still two Aussies left to race for a spot in the quarter final.
