Dave Grohl is a top-tier dad, says ex-girlfriend who breaks her silence to defend Foo Fighters frontman

An ex-girlfriend of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has broke her silence after the rocker confessed he fathered a child outside of his marriage to his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum.

On Tuesday, the 55-year-old rockstar revealed the news in an Instagram statement on Tuesday, writing that he’s “recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage”.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” he said.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.

“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

But in the days since, speculation has mounted over the identity of the woman who gave birth to his lovechild.

Now, fellow musician and ex-girlfriend Jennifer Finch, who dated Grohl in the 1990s, has come to his defence.

The 58-year-old Finch told TMZ that Grohl was a top-tier dad and friend, and said she and her ex had remained tight since their split.

She also told the outlet she had a front-row seat to watching his family dynamic play out while touring with the Foo Fighters recently.

Finch teased that she wouldn’t dish out any juicy details about her 90s romance with the former Nirvana drummer-turned-frontman until his youngest turns 18.

But she wasn’t talking about Grohl’s daughters Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10, who he shares with his wife of 21-years, Jordyn Blum. She meant his extramarital newborn.

A representative for Grohl declined to share any additional comment with NBC News.

His wife, 48, is also yet to address the matter publicly. However, the former model-turned-MTV producer was photographed without her wedding ring a few weeks before her husband confessed to his infidelity.
