Aussie actress Naomi Watts may have made her name 12 years ago as Princess Diana, but there was no shortage of Hollywood royalty in Los Angeles as the 57-year-old received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Her King Kong co-star Jack Black threatened to steal the show from the actress while producer Ryan Murphy - who has worked with Watts on four projects including looming legal drama All’s Fair - was among the entertainment industry heavyweights paying tribute to her abilities.

Husband and actor Billy Crudup was also there to support his stellar spouse while Ed Norton, who shared the big screen with Watts in The Painted Veil and Birdman, also paid tribute to her abilities, dating back to when he first saw her in her 2001 break-out film, David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive.

“It’s really lovely.”

Despite being twice nominated for an Oscar, Watts also told the iconic entertainment publication of how she was deemed “unhireable” in the 1990s after leaving Australia for Hollywood.

“I was flunking auditions over and over again, or I’d get in a movie and it would get cut down or out. It was just bad luck.”
