Jules Neale has shared an update on family life in Perth, as she prepared to take part in Melbourne Cup festivities despite rumours that her former husband Lachie Neale was also expected to attend.

Dressed in all red, the mother-of-two was dressed to impress for what could be an awkward encounter with the AFL star during Tuesday’s racing extravaganza.

“This is my first Melbourne Cup,” she told nine.com.au, revealing that being part of the day was a real “bucket list” moment.

“I love coming to these fun events, it’s always like a holiday with the event, so it’s always nice to get away.

“I’m just doing the one day and then back to mum life.”

The 36-year-old’s appearance at the biggest event in the Spring Racing calendar comes days after Lachie attended Derby Day with his new girlfriend Emma Field.

But Jules had her own big moment, as she got amongst the champagne tap moment in Champagne house Mumm’s marquee, armed with a game plan for how to handle it after watching what Carrie Bickmore did over the weekend.

“I didn’t realise that you could probably get wet,” she continued.

“I’m gonna try and copy Carrie and do a bit of a ‘tap tap’ then run away.”

The hairdresser explained she would be returning home on Wednesday after a whirlwind 24 hours in the Victorian city, adding that things were going well for her family in Perth.

“I’m in the new house with the kids now,” Jules said.

Jules moved back to her home State of WA in January with her children, after the couple announced they were after seven years of marriage a month earlier.

The split followed allegations of an affair involving Neale and Tess Crosley, who had previously been close friends with Jules.

The former Fremantle Dockers player later apologised for his actions, stating: “I have let my family down, and I apologise for my actions that have let down those that are closest to me.”

Jules subsequently removed all references to Crosley and Neale from her social media accounts, later accusing the two of engaging in an ongoing romantic affair for four months.

In July, Jules revealed she had purchased a house in Fremantle where she lives with her two young kids Piper and Freddie.

The mother-of-two has since also returned to work and is back on the tools in a swanky beauty salon in Mount Pleasant.
