Three first-timers will vie for the Gold Logie in a field of seven nominees.
The ABC’s Tony Armstrong, I’m a Celeb host Robert Irwin and perennial favourite Larry Emdur make their debuts in the Gold Logie race, going up against previous nominees Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris and Sonia Kruger.
A relative newcomer to the business, Armstrong had previously won two Logies, one for new talent in 2022 and for most popular presenter in 2023. Emdur is an industry veteran and currently hosts The Chase and The Morning Show while Irwin made his hosting debut this year.

The limited series adapted from Trent Dalton’s best-selling novel was nominated in the miniseries or TV movie category and while its young stars Felix Cameron and Lee Tiger Halley were both recognised in the most popular new talent and in the acting sections - Cameron in lead and Halley in supporting in a drama.
Boy Swallows Universe stars Simon Baker, Phoebe Tonkin, Bryan Brown, Travis Fimmel and Sophie Wilde were also nominated for their performances.
In the drama categories, Amazon Prime series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, and ABC shows The Newsreader, Total Control and Bay of Fires had four nominations each. American superstar Sigourney Weaver was nominated for lead actress in a drama for Lost Flowers.
ABC series Utopia was the most nominated scripted comedy series, clocking in four nods, one for the show and acting mentions for Rob Sitch, Celia Pacquola and Kitty Flanagan.
A raft of scripted shows racked up three nominations, including Deadloch (Amazon Prime), Safe Home (SBS), Mother and Son (ABC) and In Limbo (ABC).
Rob Collins was nominated twice in the same category, in lead actor in a drama for RFDS and Total Control.
Reflecting the commissioning breakdown between the free-to-air commercial networks and the streaming platforms, the streamers and the ABC dominated the scripted dramas and comedies while the free-to-air commercial networks, ABC, SBS and Foxtel performed well in the unscripted, news and sports categories.
In children’s TV, the ABC took five out of the six nominations while a Netflix and NITV co-production rounded out the category. The previous federal government scrapped quotas which required all networks to commission Australian children’s programming.
The Logies underwent a dramatic change this year, overhauling its categories. Previously, the awards had been separated into two streams, the publicly voted “popular” categories and the industry-voted “outstanding” gongs.
While three awards – Gold Logie, most popular presenter and most popular new talent – remain up to the public to decide, the remaining categories have been merged to be renamed “best”.
The new combined categories will have a score broken down by 30 per cent from industry judges, 20 per cent from audience data such as ratings or streaming metrics and 50 per cent by the public vote.
The acting categories have also been split between comedy and drama sections and the miniseries and television are now in their category.
Sam Pang will again host the show after his successful run last year in which he roasted a slate of celebrities including Andy Lee, Karl Stefanovic, David Koch and Sam Neill.
In 2023, Sonia Kruger won the publicly voted Gold Logie award while in the former outstanding categories, Colin From Accounts took home three trophies, one for comedy series and two acting awards for stars and co-creators Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer.
Voting opens from 6pm AEST tonight and runs until Saturday, August 17 at 7pm AEST for the best categories and until Sunday, August 18 at 7.30pm for the most popular categories.
The Logies will be broadcast on Channel 7 on August 18.
