The Paper: The Office US spin-off reveals first image, premiere date and its name

We finally have a name, an image and a date for the upcoming spin-off of The Office US.
The series which hails from Greg Daniels, who did the 2005 Steve Carell US adaptation, and Michael Koman, and it will be called The Paper and premiere in America in September on streaming platform Peacock.
Most of the Peacock’s originals end up in Australia on Binge, but the streamer has yet to confirm if it will pick it up here.

In addition to Nunez reprising his role as accountant Oscar, the link between the two shows will be the documentary crew that was filming the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch has now set itself up inside the offices of The Truth Teller newspaper in Toledo, Ohio.

Much like a paper supply company in a digital world, a regional newspaper is facing the challenge of being consigned to history, as an eager publisher tries to revive its fortunes.
The first-look image shows Gleeson’s character standing on top of a desk and addressing the staff as Impacciatore sits on a nearby table. Nunez’s Oscar can be seen in the background, looking up from his computer.
The ensemble cast also includes Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever), Melvin Gregg (High Flying Bird), Chelsea Frei, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key and Alex Edelman.
Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais have executive producer credits on The Paper, as they do on every iteration spun-off their 2001 original series. The 2005 US remake of The Office was one of 13 international editions and was preceded by Brazilian and German versions.
An Australian The Office debuted last year on Prime Video, set in a Sydney packaging company and starring Felicity Ward.
