Have you ever dreamed of living in your own fairytale castle? Well you're in luck because a Tamborine Mountain home complete with turrets, spires and curved stone walls is up for sale.

On the market for the very first time, 17 Forsythia Drive looks like it has sprung straight from the pages of a children's storybook.

Louis Bartle from Bartle Real Estate Tamborine Mountain is managing the sale and says that the agency has been overwhelmed with inquiries about the property.

"We had over 40 groups through it Saturday morning and we've got multiple offers on it already," Mr Bartle says."I don't think it's going to stay on the market for long."

According to Mr Bartle, the home was built in the early 1980s by a German carpenter/architect who had migrated to Australia - "He built it to reflect where he had grown up in Germany."

Mr Bartle says that the owner worked as a foreman on commercial construction sites on the Gold Coast and New Zealand, and had also built a Tudor-style home in the area.

The property has been carefully hand-built by the owner with whimsical details including castle-like turrets, attractive stonework, leadlight windows, courtyard fountain and intricate carvings.

"There's a lot of thought that's gone into it," says Mr Bartle. "I would say that it was a labour of love and it was probably never completely finished."

Located on a quiet 1,139-square-metre site, the two-bedroom home is surrounded by greenery and lush bushland.

Adding to the serenity, the block adjoins the colourful and peaceful Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens.

The multi-level layout includes two bathrooms - including an ensuite "in its own turret wing" - a curved timber kitchen with character windows and an intricate built-in seating area, and a dedicated bar and entertaining room.

Also on the property is a separate studio, and a garden and potting shed.

Despite the uniqueness of the home, Mr Bartle says the property isn't well-known in the area.

"A lot of people aren't really aware it's there," he says. "It's on a bend and there's a stone entrance that you can see from the street, but until people walk up the driveway they wouldn't even be aware there's almost a castle up the hill."

While the facade of the property is quite striking, the property is in need of a renovation to restore it and keep up the wonderful work of the original owner.

"The reality is it's going to need some structural repairs done to it," says Mr Bartle. "It's a little bit run down, but the facade and the exterior seems to be in relatively good condition.

"It's just looking for someone to give it some love and bring the fairy tale back to life."

17 Forsythia Drive, Tamborine Mountain is currently listed for sale by Louis Bartle and Robert Burton from Bartle Real Estate Tamborine Mountain. An expression of interest campaign is now underway.
