Former Mad Men star Christina Hendricks has turned her hand to interior design to much enthusiasm from her fans.

The actress and producer has been sharing the room reveals on her Instagram account to her 1.2 million followers.

In her most recent reveal, Hendricks showed off her home office makeover stating "I just went for it!"

"This office has been this God awful "magic castle" purple for over ten years and I hated it when I did it and I've hated it ever since," she wrote in the caption.

The finished room features printed wallpaper, 1930s-style chinoiserie printed drapes with lace sheers, a moody palette of deep plums, reds and steel blue, and pattern, pattern, pattern.

Picking up on an emerging interior design trend, Hendricks went with colour-drenching for the mouldings, baseboards and ceiling.

Responses from her followers were overwhelmingly positive. One wrote "Yes, love the gold chinoiserie panel", another commented "Absolutely in love with your style! I adore every detail!", and "Gorgeous".

Hendricks said the finished room reminded her of former Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland's style, "Now the room is a dream... I can't get enough of the drama."

In another post, the star showed off her "fun dining room" that needed "to be pushed to a more exciting place after playing it safe for over a decade."

And fun it certainly is! The walls were painted a soft lavender and again there is an abundance of pattern, prints and decor.

Responses on this post were equally positive with followers stating "This is incredible!!!", "So pretty and colorful!", and "You have impeccable taste. I'm in love with the entire room. The wallpaper is chef's kiss".

Just over a week ago, Hendricks posted a work-in-progress of her craft room - "I'm too excited to wait to show you... My office/craft room is coming along and I'm squealing!

"Of course I'll show you as it progresses."

The room features a green floral wallpaper with imagery of birds and pears and, unsurprisingly, her followers went wild with enthusiastic responses.

Unlike the criticism other celebrities face when sharing their renovation content, it's refreshing to see the joyful and positive responses Hendricks receives.
