Olympic swimming champion Grant Hackett, and his wife Sharlene, have listed their Melbourne home with a price guide of $7.95 million to $8.4 million.

The couple purchased the property at 11 Rothesay Avenue, Brighton in 2018 and embarked on an extensive renovation, transforming it into a luxurious family retreat.

Hackett and Sharlene have lived in the property with their children Olympia, Edward, and Jagger, as well as Charlize from his previous marriage to singer Candice Alley.

The 1040-square-metre residence is located in a peaceful cul-de-sac, only 100 metres from the beach in one of Melbourne’s most sought-after bayside suburbs.

Hackett, a 10-time world championship gold medallist and three-time Olympic gold medallist, worked closely with Sharlene, a dessert chef, throughout the redesign, hand-picking high-end fixtures and finishes.

The couple’s vision was to create a sanctuary that emphasised wellness, security and family life.

The sale of the property is being managed by agents Campbell Butterss, Andy Nasr and Quinty Qiu from Marshall White Bayside.

Set over two storeys, the striking home boasts soaring ceilings and an abundance of natural light.

Another stand-out feature is the master ensuite, featuring Madagascar Laurian blue granite, which the listing says is “a source of positive energy”.

The resort-style home is hidden in leafy cul-de-sac behind a high wall, with automatic gates and a video intercom entry.

As you’d expect from a sports star, the home is a dream for the fitness crowd with a solar-heated swimming pool, fully equipped gym, in-ground trampoline and a basketball hoop.

As part of the renovation project, the pool area was paved with travertine tiles and bordered by lush landscaping.

Since hanging up his swimming trunks, Hackett has joined the corporate world and is now the CEO of the retirement investment business Generation Life.

11 Rothesay Avenue, Brighton is currently listed for sale by Campbell Butterss, Andy Nasr and Quinty Qiu from Marshall White Bayside.

The price guide is $7.95 million and $8.4 million. Expressions of interest close on Tuesday March 18 at 12pm.
