S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt reveals new life as a ‘survivalist’ after death of bandmate Paul Cattermole

There’s no party like an S Club party — unless you’re Hannah Spearritt, who has traded pop stardom for permaculture and early mornings by a jungle waterfall.
The former S Club 7 singer has officially gone off the grid, revealing a new life in Costa Rica where she now identifies as a “prepper and survivalist.”
After decades in the public eye, Spearritt, 44, has stepped away from fame entirely, relocating to Central America with her partner Adam Thomas and their two young daughters, Taya and Tora.

“Looking out to new beginnings,” she captioned a photo from her jungle-view balcony.
“Next on the menu is to learn permaculture … and have a laugh at ourselves filming the planting of the fruit forest!”
The Daily Mail has reported that the shift follows a turbulent chapter in Spearritt’s life, marked by the death of her ex partner and S Club bandmate Paul Cattermole, a public fallout with the group ahead of their 25th anniversary tour, and an abrupt exit from the spotlight.
In place of glitzy performances and tabloid appearances, her days now include waterfall hikes, outdoor playtime, and homegrown living.
Her social media reflects the reset.
“Prepper, survivalist and creator now living the uninhibited jungle life,” her bio now reads—worlds away from the high-polish S Club brand that dominated the early 2000s.
“This magical place has really helped me recover from a challenging year,” she shared with fans, along with a glimpse of her daughters trekking through mountain paths and swimming beneath waterfalls.
While some fans may be surprised by the transformation, this back-to-basics lifestyle has long been on Spearritt’s vision board.
And it’s not just a wellness retreat — it’s a full exit.
The pop singer, who has battled an autoimmune condition since 2013, pulled out of the band’s reunion amid contract disputes and reportedly hadn’t spoken to her former bandmates since.
After Cattermole’s tragic death last year, Spearritt has accepted a five-figure deal to tell her side of the story, releasing her autobiography the same day S Club returned to the stage without her.
In Costa Rica, there’s no press junket or performance schedule, just jungle views, her two young daughters, and a pantry stocked with survival staples.
