Victoria’s secret: Former Spice Girl Lady Beckham’s lifelong eating habits align with a heart-healthy diet

Victoria Beckham, fashion designer and former Posh Spice of the Spice Girls, has been a public figure since the 1990s.
Now known as Lady Beckham since her husband was knighted in November, her wellness practices, including exercise and sleep habits, have changed, but her diet remains mostly the same — and it aligns with a heart-healthy eating pattern.
“I do try to be quite disciplined in the way that I eat,” Lady Beckham, 51, said on BBC’s Gordon Ramsay’s Perfect Christmas Lunch in 2008 when she was 32.

In several interviews spanning from 2008 to 2020, the former pop star shared that her diet has been centred around three core foods: fish, vegetables and fruit.
Though she cut back on her fruit intake because “it can make me feel quite bloated,” she still eats “lots of fresh fish, fresh vegetables and salads, as well as seeds and nuts,” she told Net-a-Porter five years ago.
The foods she prioritises in her meals align with the Mediterranean diet, and following the eating pattern has been associated with a lower chance of developing heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. Here are the key components of the mostly plant-based diet.

Dos and don’ts of the Mediterranean diet
The Mediterranean diet was the No. 1 best diet for 2025 in the US News & World Report’s Best Diets of 2025 report. “If your goal is to manage your weight long term and eat healthfully, try one of these science-backed diets that work,” the report states.
To follow the Mediterranean diet, you should eat more:
- Vegetables
- Fruit
- Nuts
- Fish
- Whole grains
- Healthy fats
- Beans
- Poultry
And limit:
- Processed foods
- Red meat
- Sweets
Although her diet is centred around aspects of the Mediterranean diet, Lady Beckham isn’t very rigid with her food intake, she told Net-a-Porter. While she starts just about every morning with a green juice of vegetables, fruit and ginger, she also enjoys going out for dinner with her husband, David, and having a glass of wine every now and then.
“I’m flexible with regards to food, as David and I are very sociable, and we like to eat out,” Lady Beckham said.
“My treat is a few glasses of red wine, and I also love tequila, and I do eat carbs. I have lots of avocado and really good fats, like salmon.”
