Guider admitted to kidnapping the little girl after she left her Bondi home, before taking her to another area and drugging her.

It is suspected Samantha died of an overdose, and Guider never provided the correct information to find her body.

He had also committed sex offences against 13 children between 1980 and 1996 and was serving time for those crimes when he was sentenced to 17 years in 2002 for manslaughter over the child’s kidnapping and subsequent death.

Guider was released from Long Bay Prison in 2019 but went back in 2022 for breaching the conditions of his supervision order.

A New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice spokesperson confirmed Guider died at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick.
