Pauline Hanson’s One Nation experiencing explosion of support amid Coalition drama: Newspoll
A major poll shows support for One Nation has nearly doubled since the federal election in May, as Coalition numbers hover near record lows and Labor extends its stride.
The latest Newspoll, taken between Monday and Thursday last week, showed One Nation’s primary vote hit 11 per cent while the Coalition was at 28 per cent – one per cent higher than its all-time low of 27 per cent recorded last month.
Sussan Ley’s net approval rating also slid to -20, with 31 per cent satisfied with her performance as opposition leader and 51 per cent dissatisfied.

Ms Ley has been trying build consensus on a range of touchy topics, such as net zero by 2050, which has long-divided moderate Liberals and Nationals.

But with a growing number of Liberals publicly questioning it, including Mr Hastie, pressure has mounted on Ms Ley to take a stance before her post-election policy review is completed.
Mr Hastie also injected immigration into the conversation with a lengthy social media post linking net overseas migration to housing affordability.
Meanwhile, Labor’s support has only grown since its landslide victory at the ballot box.
According to the poll, Labor’s core support rose to 37 per cent – its highest primary vote since June 2023.
On a two-party preferred basis, Labor was at 57 per cent while the Coalition was 43 per cent.
Anthony Albanese also held a mammoth lead on preferred prime minister at 52 per cent to Ms Ley’s 30 per cent.
