Harris gets a much-needed boost
In the last 15 minutes Washington state, Hawaii and Virginia have all been called for Kamala Harris.
It has given Ms Harris a much-needed boost, with four electoral votes in Hawaii and 13 in Virginia.
However, it has become clear if Democrats want to win, they need more time for votes to be counted in the hope of the “blue wall”.

Harris wins Washington State
Washington State has been called for Vice President Kamala Harris.
It was an expected win for the Democrat and will not bring additional votes Ms Harris now so desperately needs.
At the watch party at Howard University, over a third of supporters have now left.
Now past midnight in D.C., it is unclear if Ms Harris will speak at the event.
Significantly different scenes are playing out in Florida.
More VIP Republicans are leaving Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Largo party and moving to the packed Palm Beach Convention Centre as celebrations escalate.
Sources say Donald Trump will talk at the event.

Harris supporters ditching celebration plans
Democrats are abandoning Kamala Harris’ election event in troves after news of the election dragging out was announced.
“It’s too late,” one said walking out, according to reporter Max Corstorphan.
“She’s not going to come out. If she does I’ll watch from bed,” said another.
Around a third of the crowd has now left.

Trump wins first of crucial swing states
Donald Trump is projected to win North Carolina, the first of seven crucial battleground states set to determine the outcome of the election.
Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin and Nevada are the other states to watch.
Harris’ campaign manager urges patience
Kamala Harris’s campaign manager has reportedly sent an email to all staff explaining what will happen “over the next few days”.
“The returns are coming in slowly,” the memo reportedly said.
It’s understood the campaign can still see their part of the 270 electoral college votes, however now they need the “blue wall” to get over the line.
“We are built for this. We will see you tomorrow,” the memo said.
Ms Harris currently has a crowd of thousands watching the election at an event outside of Howard University in Washington D.C.
The news played live on big screens and destroyed the electric and confident energy of the crowd.
Fox News predicts Trump victory
This one won’t come as a shock to many, but Fox News’ Sean Hannity has all but predicted a win for Donald Trump.
He claimed Trump would win the presidency by 2pm AEDT, so he didn’t get that part right but hey - he could still be right overall.
Major media outlet predicts 87 per cent chance of Trump victory
One of the biggest news organisations in the world has revised its chances of Donald Trump winning the election up to 87 per cent.
The New York Times, which infamously also predicted Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election, has made the early call, predicting Trump will pick up 300 of the 270 required electoral college votes.
They’re also predicting Trump will win the popular vote by 1 per cent.
Only time will tell if their forecast is more accurate this time around.
Delayed votes for Georgia set to be announced
A massive batch of votes is about to be announced for the battleground state of Georgia, reports Max Corstorphan.
As many as 323,000 votes have been held up due to machines scanning votes slowly.
However, elections supervisor for the state of Georgia Zack Manifold said the results are now with the State and they should be announced in minutes
They do not expect further delays now they have worked through the batch.

We’re in for a bumpy ride on the markets today, with the ASX already reacting strongly to the US election news.
Westpac economist Jameson Coombs says the markets are likely to be “volatile and reactive” to headlines.
Trump will accept result ‘if it’s fair’
Taylor Renouf reports that the former president said he would be “the first” to acknowledge it if he lost the election.
But only “if it’s a fair election”.
“So far, I think it’s been fair.”
When questioned about what his supporters would do in the event of a loss, the 78-year-old said his followers are “great people” and will not cause any harm.
