New York Times predicting Trump victory

The New York Times is predicting a 69 per cent chance of a Trump victory, but other analysts are saying it’s way too early to call that.

The same tracker reportedly predicted a 95 per cent chance of a Clinton victory in 2016. And we all know how that ended.

Harris projected to win Delaware

CNN has projected Kamala Harris to win Delaware, as expected.

It adds three electoral college votes to her tally, bringing her up to 30 compared to Trump’s 154.

Harris in lead in Pennsylvania

Max Corstorphan reports that with 16 per cent of the vote counted, Kamala Harris is currently leading the state of Pennsylvania.

The State offers an enormous 19 electoral college votes.

The Vice President currently holds 64.4 per cent of the vote with Donald Trump holding 30.8 per cent.

Ms Harris spent all of Monday in the key battleground State knocking on doors and holding multiple rallies.

She finished her campaign with a star-studded rally outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Monday night with special performances from Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga and wil.i.am and featured a speech from talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.

Trump claims if he wins Pennsylvania, he wins it all

Donald Trump has told a radio station if he wins Pennsylvania, he wins “the whole deal”. The former President called into the Rich Zeoli Show in Philadelphia to urge Republican voters “to stay in line”.

“We’re going to make this country greater than ever before, but you have to stay in line. And don’t let them slow ball you. You have an absolute legal right and get that vote in because if we win Pennsylvania, if we win the good old Commonwealth, we’re going to win the whole thing. We win everything,” he said, according to CNN.

Arkansas called for Trump as expected

CNN is now calling the State of Arkansas for Trump, bringing his total electoral college votes up to 105.

It’s no surprise that the historically Republican-aligned State has gone down this path.

The successful candidate will need 270 to win the election.

More states projected for Trump in early election lead

As polls in 16 states closed at 12pm AEDT, Donald Trump has taken an aggressive lead in early projections.

Alabama, Florida, Missouri and Oklahoma have been projected as likely Mr Trump wins.

Texas’ early vote took a surprise swing to Harris, likely from early votes often leaning Democrat, but the state is beginning to turn red.

Georgia, South Carolina and Maine are also looking likely for Trump.

The latest electoral college vote count in the race to 270 sits at:

Kamala Harris: 27

Donald Trump: 90

Polls close in 16 states offering a combined 171 electoral college votes

The states offer a combined 171 electoral college votes.

It is the biggest wave of poll-closing of the election.

No calls from the states have been made yet.

Harris takes huge early lead in key swing state

Votes in the key swing state of North Carolina are showing a huge shift to Kamala Harris.

Ms Harris currently holds 67.7 per cent of counted votes in the state.

Donald Trump currently sits at 31.2 per cent.

Only around 2 per cent of the state’s vote has been counted but the swing from the early count is impossible for analysts to ignore.

Mr Trump had expressed earlier that he felt confident after his final efforts made in the must-win state.

North Carolina offers 15 electoral college votes.

West Virginia called for Donald Trump

Donald Trump has had another state called in his favour.

The Republican strong again of West Virginia has voted for the former President.

Mr Trump won the state in 2020, so his win in 2024 is not a surprise.

Max Corstorphan

Swing states still on track to decide the election

Seven swing states have been targeted by both campaigns as they offer the most likely pathway to winning the 2024 election.

Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin had been predicted as the crucial battleground states where points could be won.

With early voting showing states are not flipping, the swing states still hold the power.
