“It hurts terribly and we miss Andrew more than words can express.”
The devastating post comes after Andrew’s aunty, famed surfer Bethany Hamilton, made a desperate call out for medical experts to assist her family.
Shortly after the incident, she asked her followers to share any information that would aid the little Andrew who was Medevaced to the hospital.
“HELP!! My precious nephew was medevaced to Kapiolani in Oahu this morning after drowning last night. He still has a heartbeat and has fight in him,” she wrote.
The family managed to get in touch with Dr. Paul Harch, who operates a hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic in New Orleans — but he was unsuccessful in saving Andrew.
Posting a tribute to her nephew on Instagram, Bethany shared a heartfelt prayer.
“The Lord has received my sweet nephew Andrew into his beautiful care. While my family and I will miss him dearly, we trust that his joy is full with Jesus.”
