AFL: West Coast played a good first quarter and then went missing in Sydney as GWS claimed a big win.

The Eagles were desperate to salute in what was their final road game of the year, but Adam Kingsley’s side were an outside chance of sneaking into a wildcard spot and played like it.

That’s all folks

The Eagles have just one game left against Hawthorn next week and will be desperate to not finish the season on an 11-game losing skid.

But will be a big ask against the top-four side.

We’ll be back next week!

The Eagles’ players and fans will be equally grateful that the club’s final away game of the season is over.

The visitors looked up for a fight in the first term as they kicked five goals to match the Giants.

However, they managed just two more for the entire match which came in the last term.

Kelly ends the day with 28 disposals and eight clearances with Graham having 26.

Ash racked up 36 disposals for the Giants with no one running with him on the outside.

Century

The Eagles have given up the ton again as Cal Brown runs through the pack and snaps a goal.

The Eagles have been much better in this last term but it means little as they look set for another big defeat.

Two!

Waterman grabs a consulation from outside 50.

The Eagles did well to make the most of an unforced error from the Giants.

They work the ball up to Waterman who plays on from outside 50 and nails the long shot.

Finally!

The Eagles have a goal for the first time since the first term.

They forced a good turnover in the corridor and used the ball well to get to Yeo inside 50 where he’s been playing for much of the day.

He hands off to Hough who dances a defender and kicks the goal on the run.

3QT: Greater Western Sydney 87, West Coast 40

The scoreboard really sums up the Eagles’ efforts.

The visitors had 5.1 at quarter time and have managed just nine behinds since.

On the flip side, the Giants have gone from 5.2 to 13.7.

It’s not even been glaring skill errors that have been an issue for West Coast today, it’s just a lack of will to run with the Giants in transition.

Everytime they have applied pressure they’ve been rewarded with repeat 50s, it just has not happened much.

Reid is fighting hard through a tag with 23 disposals, seven clearances and six tackles with Kelly and Graham behind him.

Shanahan took a great mark on the wing but the Eagles were unable to follow his lead.
