AFL: The two hottest teams in the competition will meet as Fremantle host Hawthorn in what could be an early finals preview.

The Dockers haven’t lost to Hawthorn at home since the 2015 preliminary final and are on a hot-streak of seven straight wins.

The Hawks are unbeaten in their last seven, coming off a draw with Collingwood in what will be the biggest test yet of Fremantle’s premiership credentials.

This games an arm wrestle

Hawthorn has become stagnant in their ball movement while the Dockers have made mistakes at crucial moments.

There’s been just two goals in the last 30 minutes and nine behinds.

Amiss makes them pay

There first inside 50 in 12 minutes as Hayden Young and Murphy Reid combine to run the ball out the front of stoppage to find Amiss.

From right on 50 it’s a great kick and the margin is back to 16-points.

Dockers under huge pressure

They;ve conceded six inside 50s to one but Hawthorn have missed several shots on goal.

Karl Worner it almost caught holding the ball as he just daudles out of the goal square. They need to lift here.

Bizzare moments

Jordan Clark smothers and is away but his bounce doesn’t come back to him.

Jack Ginnivan is caught holding the ball in the middle but Johnson trys to handball quickly, and it goes to ground, and Murphy Reid is then caught.

Pressure is high and there’s mistakes on both sides.

Lewis launches for the Hawks

It’s unlucky for the Dockers as Bodie Ryan comes straight off the bench to steal the ball and go to Mitch Lewis.

He opens up the angle and laucnhes from just outside 50 and it sneaks through to make it 20-points.

Treacy takes an early grab

Three v one and Treacy crashes through and takes the mark after a couple of bobbles.

It’s a big kick but it fades right to make it a 14-point game.

Second half underway

There are multiple stoppages in the first half before a hack kick from Fremantle goes out of bounds for the last disposals free.

Watson reflects on first half

“Yeah, I’m definitely happy, but we know they’re a strong side and going to come at us at some point, so we’ve got to keep on our toes.”

More on Tom Barrass’ injury

HALF TIME Hawthorn 9.5 (59) Fremantle 6.8 (44)

Cox speaks on Gunston.

“It’s hard to defend when they have speed on the ball, but we made an adjustment to stay in front in that quarter,” Cox says.

Guntson did have a couple of looks spoiled late but Watson looks like he can do whatever he likes if he gets near it.

The Dockers defence were under siege but it did even out as the quarter went on.

Judd McVee has looked the most assured this quarter but Treacy did not have a touch that quarter.

The Dockers have kept up the pressure, but they’re doing a lot of running in defence.

Barrass is a huge out for the Hawks and the Dockers will hope they can stretch the Hawks defence better in the second half.
