AFL: What trades will go down on the second day of the AFL’s player-swap period?

We saw plenty of statements but not much action on day one of the trade period, but things are set to progress as we enter Tuesday.

Follow our live coverage below to stay across the day’s developments.

That’s where we’ll leave it

When it rains it pours as West Coast and Fremantle crack open the 2025 trade period with some late moves.

We’ll have plenty more analysis to come and the deals won’t be finalsied until tomorrow morning so be sure to follow along our blog from 7am once again.

Until then bye for now!

A twist in Starcevich's tale

It appears West Coast also gave up pick 22 as part of that deal, so it’s much less of a win than it looked like originally.

Still better than a straight swap for pick 16 however but Eagles fans will have to temper their celebrations just a bit

McVee is now set to move to Dockers

Things are moving in a rush now.

Starcevich's details confirmed

The West’s Mitchell Woodcock has broken down the deal here.

Why would Freo slide back?

So they can get Judd McVee at a better price.

Pick 12 is way too high but pick 33 woulnd’t have got it done so they had to move around.

Some more details on the Starcevich trade are emerging

It looks like it’s going to be a whopper

West Coast will trade out pick 16 and 23 for Starcevich and pick 12 from Fremantle

Brisbane gets pick 16 while Fremantle slide back to 19 and gets 23.

A myriad of second and third-round picks are also involved. With it now past 6pm over east this deal won’t be confirmed until the morning.

Fremantle confirm Mayne move

Mayne back in purple

Chris Mayne is set to return to the AFL club where he spent almost a decade.

Mayne will take up a role as a Dockers development coach, working under Freo forwards coach Jaymie Graham.

Here’s Mitchell Woodcock with the story.

Starcevich deal imminent

It appears West Coast’s trade for Brandon Starcevich is close to fruition.

There’s plenty of talk about a third club - potentially Fremantle - getting involved to help facilitate the deal with Brisbane for the dual premiership defender.

Intrigue lies around what role - if any - Pick 16 will play in a trade, with the Lions keen for it despite West Coast list boss Matt Clarke yesterday saying it was not up for grabs.

The Eagles have appeared more focused on involving Pick 22 in a potential Starcevich deal.

Eagle eye on axed Crow

West Coast have met with a recently axed Adelaide midfielder as they look to boost the mature aged players on their list.

The West Australian can reveal the club spoke to Harry Schoenberg at Mineral Resources Park on Tuesday, with the Eagles considering taking a punt on the former Crow.

The 24-year-old was delisted last month after playing 62 games for Adelaide across six seasons, having been picked up at No.24 in the 2019 draft.
