The troubled star is set to meet with the Suns to win a footy lifeline.

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has flown to the Gold Coast ahead of a meeting with the Suns that will determine his AFL future.

The former No.1 draft pick did not play a game for the Western Bulldogs this year and spent time away from the club with personal issues.

Under contract with the Dogs for 2026, he has long been linked with a move interstate to reignite his promising career after kicking 78 goals across 2023-24.

Ugle-Hagan took the first step on Tuesday night when he landed in Queensland.

“I’m here for Dreamworld, I’m definitely going to go Movie World, that’s my main job,” the 23-year-old joked.

“I haven’t been on any of those rides so we’ll see what happens.”

Asked more directly about his future, Ugle-Hagan said: “I definitely want to play football. Yeah, 100 per cent.”

He was tight-lipped on who he was meeting while on the Gold Coast.

“That’s a good question,” Ugle-Hagan said.

At one point a fan interrupted to joke that he would give Ugle-Hagan $50 to sign for Sydney next year.

Swans star Isaac Heeney has previously shared the same wish — albeit without the incentive.

The All Australian was discussing life in the NSW capital in an interview when the conversation turned.

“People come up and they want to have a photo it’s generally pretty quick, whereas I feel like Melbourne, the AFL states, can sometimes be a bit more pushy. I don’t know how, say, the Daicos boys do it and live a normal life,” Heeney said.

Interviewer Felix Von Hofe said: “To any free agent forwards out there, key forwards, this is a great place to live.”

Heeney laughed and replied: “Any big boys — Jamarra, you want to come up?”

Just weeks earlier Ugle-Hagan had suggested a move away from the Bulldogs was not on the cards.

“I still want to play for them and I want to win a flag,” Ugle-Hagan said in June.

“It’s the Bulldogs until my contract runs out and then hopefully they offer me another one, but we will see how we go.

“They have given me opportunities since day dot, so why can’t I get back?”
