Carlton injury crisis threatens to deepen with fresh concern surrounding Harry McKay
Carlton’s injury crisis threatens to deepen with spearhead Harry McKay sent for scans on a suspected quad injury on Monday morning.
McKay appeared to suffer the setback in the final four minutes of the Blues’ crushing defeat to Hawthorn on Sunday afternoon.
It leaves Carlton with potentially six fresh injuries from an afternoon of chaos at the MCG.

Curnow re-aggravated an ongoing ankle injury in the third quarter and finished the game watching from the sidelines.
Adam Saad and Jack Martin (both hamstrings) are expected to miss, while Jordan Boyd (adductor) and Lachie Fogarty (shoulder) will be assessed.
McKay pulled up short while taking a mark on the wing in the dying minutes but was forced to stay on the field with the Blues already reduced to no rotations.
McKay was one of six Blues forced to play every minute of the second half.
The Blues are already without Tom De Koning (foot/lung), Adam Cerra (hamstring), Orazio Fantasia (calf) and Matt Cottrell (shoulder) from their first-choice side.
The Blues could be forced to turn to untried key forward Harry Lemmey to cover the load in attack against the Eagles, while tall swingman Lewis Young was held out of the VFL as a carryover emergency.
Jack Carroll is another option after also sitting out of the VFL, while Jaxon Binns will be strongly considered after a strong patch of form at the lower level.
Small forward Corey Durdin returned from injury in the Blues’ VFL win over Geelong and mid-season draftee Cooper Lord collected 30 disposals in his bid for an AFL debut.
