Games on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, as well as marquee matches, finals, the Grand Final, Brownlow Medal and state league matches on Saturdays, will stream live and free on 7plus Sport in addition to free-to-air coverage on the screens of Seven.

Match coverage will be boosted by an unprecedented roster of panel shows.

New recruits Kane Cornes and Nick Riewoldt will feature on The Agenda Setters over multiple nights, alongside other prominent Channel 7 commentators.

The Front Bar returns alongside a fresh line-up including Unfiltered, Extra Time, Sunday Footy Feast, The Wash Up and Kane’s Call, with podcasts and more to follow.

Unfiltered with Hamish McLachlan will feature one-on-one interviews with AFL stars.

Kane’s Call will be the place to hear the biggest opinions after each round.

Channel 7 is also commissioning a pre-season documentary inside an AFL club, in the lead-up to the season, titled Full Sweat.

“The 2024 AFL season was extraordinary. A year for the ages, but we’re even more excited about what’s to come in 2025,” Seven Network Director of Sport Chris Jones said.

“We felt it was time to change it up, to prepare for our new and younger audiences, and we’ve welcomed some fresh faces to help us reset the AFL media landscape for good.

“New recruits including Kane Cornes, Nick Riewoldt and others will be joining our established commentary team. They make us more dynamic and drive our strategy to have a seven-days-a-week football offering.

“One of the first things we identified was that if we wanted to be the home of footy, we needed to fill out the offering and create the best footy programs in the land.

“From Monday to Friday every night, there will be AFL content to watch or stream on Seven and 7plus Sport.

“So, with more nights of footy programming throughout the 2025 AFL premiership season, as well as live match broadcasts streamed on 7plus Sport for the first time, there has never been a more exciting time for AFL fans.”

The AFL hub on 7plus Sport will stretch beyond live match and show coverage to full replays and the popular mini and highlights formats.

There will also be video on demand and unique exclusive content from the nightly shows.

7plus Sport will also feature ‘club hubs’ allowing fans to watch fresh footage of their team and favourite players.

Meanwhile, the AFL has confirmed Thursday night football will feature on 23 occasions in 2025 — with the first 16 weeks of the season unveiled ahead of a further seven to be determined as part of a floating fixture.

Fifteen clubs will play at least one Thursday night game in the first 16 weeks, with Essendon (four appearances) leading the charge ahead of Carlton, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong, Brisbane and the Bulldogs (three apiece).

Every Thursday night game will be live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
