It’s a purple avalanche to end the half!

Fremantle’s defence has earned this spurt, holding up for most of the quarter and now the midfield is hitting their straps.

They have used forward handballs to great effect in traffic and once they release the Dogs defence can’t keep up.

The Dogs have had double the inside 50s and lead the disposals by more than 40 but the Dockers still hold the lead.

Fremantle are all or nothing with counter attacks and when they avoid the silly skill errors they are very dangerous.

Harmes has given the Dogs the lead with an incredible goal.

Running tight to the boundary in the near pocket he drops the ball onto the foot and spears it through the big sticks from the acute angle.

Fremantle have made some ugly mistakes through the middle and it came back to bite.

Fremantle came out of the break fumbly but finally got it together to hit Treacy on the chest.

He slots the set shot.

They’ve started to address the contest and are putting the Dogs’ defence under intense pressure.

QUARTER TIME: Dockers 26, Bulldogs 24

The visitors had the better of the term in general play but when Fremantle slipped out the back they couldn’t be stopped.

The Dockers defenders did a good job to hold up under pressure before a few smart kicks through the corridor opened the door to goal.

Frederick has looked particulary dangerous in attack with two goals.

Darcy leads all-comers with 10 disposals while Clark has eight for Fremantle.

Rory Lobb is rocking the red lobster hair do and the fans are giving it to him with boos.

The tall defender has started well though.

This game is lightening quick!

Bolton has his first as a Docker with silky smooth agility and then a burst of speed to run into a open square.

It matches Darcy’s second major at the other end.

It’s fast and furious to start the match!

Both teams are taking the ball and sprinting it down field as quickly as possible.

The clearances are where things are being decided very early on.

It’s three to two in favour of the Dogs.

Luke Jackson grabbed the first few clearances but it was the Dogs who found space and run.

Naughton gets the ball on a hit up and then kicks the ball to a spot Sam Darcy can use his height on Pearce and the Bulldog takes the grab.

He made the set shot look easy as the Dogs strike first.
