Geelong Cats star Bailey Smith set to lose licence after speeding during raging bushfires
It’s an unfortunate start to the year for the controversial footy player.

Bailey Smith will need a lift to the airport ahead of next weekend’s AFL Origin clash, with the Cats star set to lose his driver’s licence after speeding back to his home during Victoria’s recent bushfires.
Smith was reportedly picked up going 125km/h near his Surf Coast home as he rushed back to check on the animals at his 5.8-hectare home during fires last month.
Smith is set to lose his licence for the next three months after exceeding his demerit point allocation.

Geelong were forced to cancel future Mad Monday plans after posting an inappropriate image and caption in reference to veteran reporter Caroline Wilson.
He was also called out by former West Coast Eagle Mitch Brown, who accused him of homophobia for making a Brokeback Mountain reference at the same celebrations.
Smith was also given a warning by the AFL after verbally abusing a photographer at one of Geelong’s training sessions earlier in the season.
The 25-year-old will represent Victoria at next weekend’s AFL Origin clash on the back of an All-Australian season in which he was also praised for opening up to his mental health struggles at the awards night.
