The stars have come to play with Bont getting the Dogs back ahead of the game by a nose in that quarter.
The game stepped up a level and has been great to watch with some superb individual efforts.
The good news for West Coast is their last quarters have been a strength in 2026.
The Bulldogs have the four leading disposal winners but Reid is just behind them with McCarthy and Duursma just behind him.

The hang!
Duggan takes a ride over the top of a Dogs defender on the half forward line for a great mark.
However, his kick is as poor as always and the Dogs nearly go the length of the ground for their own goal.
He needs to get around Starcevich who defended four players and then won the ball.
The former Lion is showing his wares well today.
But the Eagles can’t stop Kennedy getting the mark from the next entry.
He had a shot for the lead but missed.

Tackles win matches
The Dogs have hardly broken an Eagles tackle today in a huge credit to the travelling side.
West Coast have broken 10, six of those from Harley Reid!
Bont’s reply!
Marcus Bontempelli is not having the young gun star on his stage.
The ball bobbles around in midfield and some how gets to the Dogs’ superstar.
He takes three steps and launches it home from 58!

No.1 for a reason!!
Duursma has ripped his way out of the middle after Kelly claimed the tap down.
His speed was too much for Kennedy and the launch from 60 is dead-eye!
And it comes off the back of a goal to Graham to boost the lead to a game-high 14 points.

You could argue it was holding the ball but this was still some effort from Harley Reid in the second term!
Danger man
Ed Richards is shaping as the danger man for the home side.
He’s had five clearances and sneaks forward on this occassion and slots his 12th goal for the year.

The Eagles are good value for their lead after kicking four goals to one in the second quarter.
Their ball movement is as good as it’s been under McQualter and they have rediscovered the pressure game that deserted them after the bye.
They are doing great work to stop the Dogs’ overlap out of half back which has allowed for repeat entries.
And here’s a stunning stat for you, this is the first time since this week last year that the Eagles have had a half-time lead on the road!

Survived the storm
The Dogs have peppered the goal in the last five minutes but come away with nothing but behinds.
The West Coast finally get it out and it’s a scrappy inside 50 that’s won by the Bulldogs.
However, a terrible kick backwards and across goals allows Waterman to slide in for the mark 15 metres from goal.
He nails the set shot and his yips are dead!

In front!
The Eagles find some of the best ball movement of their season after Shanahan gets the ball to ground at the defensive end of the centre square.
Duggan and Duursma combine on the wing while Shanahan sprints all the way inside 50 and gets the mark.
He snaps the ball through the middle to get just reward for his stellar efforts.
He gets a second chance from the next clearance from the opposite flank after Williams tapped the ball to Reid but stabs at it and misses.
