RECAP: West Coast Eagles beaten by Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium
West Coast produced an improved effort at Marvel Stadium but it wasn’t enough to see them past Western Bulldogs in Elliot Yeo’s 200th Eagles appearance. Recap the action here.

AFL: West Coast produced an improved effort at Marvel Stadium but it wasn’t enough to see them past Western Bulldogs in Elliot Yeo’s 200th Eagles appearance.
The WA club had dropped their past 11 games at Marvel Stadium, failing to come within four goals of a single opponent there since late 2023.
And while their losing run at the venue will extend into next season, there were positives on Sunday.
Recap the action here.

Toss blunder!
Yeo may have played 200 games for the West Coast but he’s still learning new things.
He does the toss for the Eagles but forgets to call heads or tails.
He calls heads second time around and it lands on tails!
Some positional clues
Our man on the ground at Marvel Stadium, Mitchell Woodcock, suggests we’ll likely be seeing more midfield time for Willem Duursma and more forward time for Jack Graham based off some warm-up clues:
Bont looming large
As we approach the opening ball-up, one of the biggest questions for the Eagles today remains the same as most of their previous meetings with the Dogs this decade: How do you slow down the Bont?
Marcus Bontempelli has a ridiculous 19 career Brownlow votes against West Coast - just one off Robert Harvey’s all-time record.
He’s been the chief destroyer and might get some Brady Hough attention today. We’ll find out in a few minutes.
Bulldogs banner
The home side has a bit of fun with their banner... and reaffirm their status as one of the best banner clubs in the business.
West Coast have a Harley
We don’t see the fuss
Any kid can tell you
The west belongs to us
Ruck riddle
Can the Eagles look to exploit a Dogs side missing Tim English today?
The Bulldogs have a 1-4 record this season when the star ruckman is absent.
It appears it’ll again be a Williams combo for West Coast in the ruck, with Bailey supported by Jack Williams as was the case last week. Rory Lobb has been named as the Dogs’ primary ruckman.
Yeo 200
It’s a milestone day for Elliot Yeo, with the beloved veteran making his 200th appearance in Eagles colours.
He’s the 30th player to reach the milestone at West Coast, and just the third to have done it after starting his career at a different club. 2018 premiership teammates Josh Kennedy and Jamie Cripps are the others.
It’s been a decorated career for the 32-year-old. We revisit his five best Eagles games here!
Final team news
There’s no late changes for this one, with team line-ups locked in.
It means the Eagles go with an unchanged side despite their losing streak, and it also means they’ve got three unused emergencies in Melbourne.
Sandy Brock, Harvey Johnston and Ryan Maric are all at Marvel Stadium but won’t play. West Coast’s WAFL side takes on Perth in WA this afternoon - and have their chances dented by a range of outs.
