THREE-QUARTER TIME: Collingwood 58, Brisbane 75

That quarter had it all!

Sparkling goals, high-flying marks and crunching tackles to go with smothers.

And the game is still close!

Both sides look ready for a classic and the Lions are not showing signs of fading having played the extra match.

McCluggage has been MAJOR without Collingwood tagging him.

He has more than 30 disposals and nine clearances with a quarter to play.

Daicos has been really strong but he needs a few teammates to come with him through the middle.

Houston has had just seven touches and is one they could really use in the last term.

NO. WAY!!!!

Because if Ashcroft wasn’t good enough at footy!

The young star was standing on the outside of a forward stoppage and looked to just be watching as it dribbled his way.

But he was calculating and wrestling as he kicked it off the bounce and through the big sticks!

Elliooooott!

The small forward has launched into the sky and what a time to drag down a screamer!

The Pies were looking for a response and they got it.

Elliott got the sit in the square and lept onto a defender’s shoulders to claim the hanger.

Important moment.

Scoring end?

The Lions have now kicked four goals to one to start the term and have grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.

However, is it just the end.

Only one goal has been kicked to the end the Pies are heading to in this quarter with 14 at the other.

One-point game!

The Lions get the ball at half-back after the next bounce and Reville finds Will Ashcroft who sinks a beauty on the run.

Lightning strike!

The Lions score the first major as Bailey sharks a forward stoppage and bursts into an open goal.

The atmosphere feels a touch flat and that goal left the Pies fans a little stunned.

Who must lift?

Raynor enters the second half with just five touches and two clearances after being superb last week.

He is the man the Lions can get the biggest improvement from as the third term gets underway.

HALF-TIME: Collingwood 43, Brisbane 30

The game has turned on a dime and Collingwood are now the dominant force.

The Lions suffered three injuries in that term but much of it was because they are coming second to the contest.

The Lions are still leading the disposals but they can’t get past half forward.

And Cameron missed their only real chance.

Brisbane also lead the clearances by 10 so really just need to calm down in the second half because they look the better side when they make the right choices.

Daicos’ game

The umpire has given back-to-back 50-metre penalties at the insistence of Nick Daicos and suddenly the home side lead by eight.

Ashcroft got caught holding the ball and the ball spilled out of the contest but was pinged as not giving the ball back after Daicos pointed to the umpire and called for 50.

Then as they lined up after the penalty Daicos pointed to Ashcroft who was next to him for coming into the protected area and the umpire payed another 50.

To make matters worse, the Lions have activated the sub with Berry out and Houston has grabbed the Pies’ sixth major of the term.

Carnage!

Berry’s shoulder has been dislocated and the medical staff are struggling to get him off the ground as play goes on between them and the bench.

He has already done the shoulder previously but it came out again after a lunging tackle.

Gallop is also sore for the Lions and De Goey for the Magpies.
