An apprentice jockey is fighting for life after a horrific fall at a regional race track six hours north-west of Sydney.
Young hoop Izzy Neale and fellow jockey Diego Montes de Oca both came off their respective mounts Marnoo and Shadow Dane with about 400m to run in race six at Warren on Sunday.
Neale was airlifted to Dubbo Hospital in a critical condition, while Montes de Oca followed in an ambulance with a suspected broken foot, and Marnoo was euthanised after suffering a “near foreleg injury”, according to Racing NSW Stewards.
