Sport: Australia could hardly have asked for a better start as they look to keep up the gold rush in the pool on day two in Glasgow.

Our Dolphins will be back in action with plenty of more medals up for grabs while the Diamonds will get their netball campaign underway against Tonga.

The 3x3 basketball squads will look to keep up their perfect start while the boxing will also get underway.

We’ll be blogging across the entire evening, night and early morning (WA time) to keep you across the latest!

Fredericks’ back for more

Off the back of her bronze medal in the 200m backstroke, Hannah Fredericks eyes the top prize in the 100m backstroke.

Her 1.00.18 heat all but guarantees she will move on.

Garbin racks up early

As expected the women’s netball squad are leading Tonga at the end of the first quarter 23-12.

WA’s goal scorer Sophie Garbin leads the game with 14 goals of 88 per cent shooting efficiency.

The Diamonds are medal favourites and will look to breeze through their pool matches.

McEvoy makes light work of heats

World record holder Cam McEvoy wasted no energy in his heat, finishing second behind Canadian Joshua Liendo.

He cruised to a 21.87 finish, notching the second-best time en route to the semi-finals.

It was a breezy start for McEvoy but the Aussie kicked it up a gear to finish strong.

Jack cracks sub 22

As the swimming heats get underway Australia is quick to notch another win with Jamie Jack storming in heat eight of the men’s 50m freestyle.

His 21.95 is the first sub 22 time in the early heats.

Netball underway

The hosts, Scotland, kick off the Netball action, but unfortunately for them, ran into one of the favourites, New Zealand, first up, who were way too good in their 74-44 win at the Hydro

Welcome

Hello and welcome to day two in Glasgow, where Australia will look to continue their dominance in the pool after SIX gold medals to start.

Lani Pallister will be back in action in the 1500m while Mollie O’Callaghan will be the woman to catch in the 200m.

The netball and boxing also get underway with plenty of Aussies, and WA talent in action!
