Boxing Day Test: Jasprit Bumrah masterclass puts India on top as Australia’s middle order collapses
Australia will look to take the final wicket early on day four as teenage sensation Sam Konstas’ return to the crease looms.
Follow all the action from the MCG live.
Tea break
What a session from India.
Jasprit Bumrah was outstanding again, with support from Mohammed Siraj, who took the breakthrough wicket of Steve Smith.
Then Bumrah dismissed Travis Head (1), Mitch Marsh (0) and Alex Carey (2) as he reached the 200 Test wicket milestone.
Australia are 6-135, leading by 240 runs with Marnus Labuschagne (65*) and Pat Cummins (21*) at the crease with a session to go on day four.

50 up for Marnus
Labuschagne reaches a half century with his side perilously placed at 6-108.
It’s been a bruising 105 ball-stint at the crease, with more than his fair share of body blows.
He’s had a few chances go his way - especially the dropped catch just overs ago - but it’s been an admirable knock nonetheless.
He’s got Australia’s lead above 200 but there’s work to do still.
Chance... and DROPPED!
A huge chance goes begging as Marnus Labuschagne edges a Akash Deep delivery to third slip and it’s sensationally dropped by Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Captain Rohit Sharma is as furious as Deep as the regulation catch to Jaiswal’s left is put down, it’s the second catch he’s dropped this innings.
It would have left the tail needing to do some serious wagging for Australia but Labuschagne survives - how big will that moment be?
SPELL-BINDING
This Jasprit Bumrah spell is something to behold.
The Indian superstar has taken 3-4 in this spell to dismiss Travis Head (1), Mitch Marsh (0) and Alex Carey (2) in quick succession.
He seamed one through the gate to bowl Carey and Australia are six wickets down.
The lead is still below 200 - sitting at 198 - with Marnus Labuschagne (45*) and Pat Cummins (yet to face a ball) at the crease.
The best bowler in the world is living up to his reputation, having also dismissed teenage sensation Sam Konstas earlier this morning.
Bumrah strikes again!
Australia are in all sorts at the MCG.
Steve Smith, Travis Head and now Mitch Marsh have fallen in a middle-order collapse that has put India on top in the Boxing Day Test.
Marsh is out for a fifth-ball duck as Bumrah clips his glove on the way through to the ‘keeper on the final ball of the over.
The Aussies have lost 3-5 in 10 balls.
Alex Carey comes to the crease with the hosts’ lead a lean 191.
Bumrah, take a bow!
Hasn’t this game turned on it’s head.
Jasprit Bumrah notches up his 200th Test wicket, getting the huge scalp of Travis Head as he departs for just one run, following a first-innings duck.
Head flicks the first ball he faces of Bumrah to square-leg and Nitish Kumar Reddy takes the catch.
Australia are 4-85 and are in huge trouble in their second innings, with a lead of less than 200.
GONE!
Steve Smith won’t reach the 10,000-run milestone today, he departs for 13 (41).
Mohammed Siraj dismisses the first-innings centurion, with a healthy edge caught behind by the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
All of a sudden, Australia are 3/81 with a lead of 186. India are right back in this Test.
Travis Head comes to the crease after his rare duck on Boxing Day.
Can Smith get to 10,000?
Steve Smith is closing in on another major Test milestone.
After notching up his 34th Test century in the first innings, one of Australia’s greatest-ever batsmen is just 38 runs shy of 10,000 runs.
Smith would join Ricky Ponting, Allan Border and Steve Waugh as the fourth Australian to reach the milestone.
He has 13 from 36 in this innings. Can he reach it today?
Inglis ruled out
West Australian wicketkeeper Josh Inglis has been ruled out for the rest of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and his Big Bash League season is in doubt with a calf strain.
Inglis has been the reserve batter with the Australian side for all four Test matches so far this summer, but was injured while fielding on day two of the Melbourne Test.
That’s lunch
Two wickets down in the elongated first session for Australia, with openers Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja both gone.
Both batters were beaten by really good deliveries, but otherwise Australia have riden this out pretty well. Labuschagne has got to 20 and has helped them get through two dangerous Jasprit Bumrah spells.
They’re going at less than two runs an over in the last 10, which they will be hopeful of lifting after the break here to try and make a match of it.
Australia 2-53 - Labuschagne 20, Smith 2
