Siraj survives

Australia thought they had the final wicket of Mohammed Siraj.

But the third umpire deemed that the ball had bounced after it hit the bat, bemusing Australian captain Pat Cummins.

He tried to review the decision but it was the third umpire’s call, meaning it was final.

Former Test umpire Simon Taufel told Seven he would have liked the third umpire to have a more thorough assessment of it.

“From my perspective, I would have liked to have seen them take a few more looks at the particular decision, maybe a couple of different angles and maybe even a higher frame rate,” he said.

“Because my gut feel might be that he might have come up with a different result if he looked at a few more different replays from different angles.”

Hello!

And welcome to day four of the Boxing Day Test!

We’re kicking things off half an hour early after losing overs due to bad light and rain last night.

India are 9-358 with Nitish Kumar Reddy (106*) and Mohammed Siraj (2*) at the crease.

The visitors trail by 116 runs.
