Sam Konstas had an unbelievable debut on the Test stage as Australia finally saw solid top-order runs only for Jaspirt Bumrah to haul India back once again.

Relive all the action from the MCG here!

Bumrah back on

Relief for Indian fans as Bumrah walks back onto the field. Perhaps he is just managing some cramp on what has been a very hot day.

Smith and Carey have worked the singles as they edge the score towards 300.

Bumrah is off!

This could be a big moment as Bumrah walks off the field after the drinks break heading for the change rooms.

The physio was putting some work into his left calf.

It could abe a big blow if he’s not back for the new ball spell but he has had to do a mountain of work this summer with little support from his other bowlers.

Australia 5/279

SIX! Carey launches Washington into the crowd over mid-wicket.

He scoops a single over Pant.

He finds the going tougher against Siraj as he nips one past his outside edge. The pressure is relieved with a misfield that allows two and then another misfield brings a single.

Smith attacks Siraj

Siraj replaces Bumrah who will be put on ice until the new ball. Carey cuts for one while Smith drives for three.

SIX! Smith pulls Siraj out to square leg for a maximum to move to 62.

Ideally, Australia would love to attack these seven overs before the new ball but they can’t afford to lose another wicket.

50 for Steve Smith

Amidst the carnage, Smith has nurdled the singles to reach his 42nd Test 50.

He has to stick around now after Bumrah’s incisions but after a shaky start has looked solid.

Carey cuts for two as Australia pass 250 but in a much more precarious state than they were 15 minutes ago.

MARSH GONE BUMRAH ON FIRE

SHOT! Marsh is off the mark with a lovely drive through the covers for four.

Bumrah bites back with one that bounces more to catch the glove but it falls short of gully.

OUT! Marsh goes for the pull and it catches a thick edge through to Pant. Once again Bumrah is a one-man show for India and is turning this game on its head.

India fired up

Mitch Marsh in now. The WA man is under pressure to score some runs after a lean summer so far and Beau Webster waiting in the wings.

The Indian fans have certainly found their voice again.

BUMRAH GETS HEAD

Bumrah is straight back on after the breakthrough. Smith drives through the covers where Siraj misfields to allow three.

But it does bring Head on strike who shoulders arms to one that nips back in and takes the top of off!!

That’s a huge wicket and India is suddenly back in this contest.

Heeeere’s Heady

India’s nemesis, Head comes to the crease with the score 3/237. He can’t find the gap in his first four balls.

GONE LABUSCHAGNE FALLS

First ball after the drinks break, Marnus dances down but gets too close to the pitch and can’t beat mid-on who takes the catch.

The partnership is broken at 83 and Labuschagne can’t believe it.

He batted well but like Khawaja has fallen to a rash shot.
