Cricket: Australia are on the brink of a 2-0 Ashes stranglehold, with just Ben Stokes looming as the sole man who could provide England resistance.

The tourists enter Sunday still 43 runs in arrears of Australia, with six wickets down, and needing a miracle to post a target that could make the Aussie batters sweat.

Mitchell Starc appears on the brink of securing Player of the Match honours, and will be looking to add to his eight wickets for the Test - not to mention his team-high 77 with the bat.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our coverage of Day 4 of the Second Test!

We’re fully expecting an Australian victory today, with the question more about when, rather than if.

Ben Stokes is at the crease and has produced miracles in the past, but he and Will Jacks are going to have to put on a significant eighth-wicket stand if England are to even extend the match into the second half of the day.

Play gets underway at midday (WA time), with players going through their warm-ups on the Gabba outfield.
