Bumrah is back

After a quick break, India’s captain is back for another spell.

He got the wicket of Alex Carey with his first ball, his fifth of the innings, will he get another?

SPIN IN

India have turned to Washington Sundar in a bid to break the stubborn 10th-wicket partnership, which has now reached 22.

Can he get the breakthrough?

100 UP FOR THE AUSSIES!

It’s been a grind and a half but Australia have reached triple figures.

After being 9-79, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have put on the best partnership (21) of the innings to reach 100.

Starc, who got the all-important single, is also Australia’s top-scorer with an unbeaten 24, while Hazlewood has six.

The crowd gave the pair a standing ovation.

Australia trail by 50.

Star sighting

West Coast star Harley Reid has been spotted at Perth Stadium on day two.

The 19-year-old was seen hanging out on the hill with recruits Liam Baker and Jack Graham on Saturday.

All-Australian forward Jake Waterman has also joined the group.

OUCH!

Starc cops a nasty blow to the helmet.

Harshit Rana is quick to check on Starc after a 138km delivery hits him flush on top of the head. In good news, he appears to have brushed it off.

Drinks is called early as the Aussie quick gets medical attention.

Another boundary!

A mini resistance is on from Australia’s seamers, with Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood combining for a partnership of 13.

Can they get the Aussies to triple figures?

Samantha Rogers

How has that got through?

Four much needed runs for Australia as the ball somehow sneaks between the ‘keeper and first slip and races to the boundary.

Josh Hazlewood has five and Australia avoid a record-low score against India.

Could we see a record broken on day two?

Australia are perilously close to breaking the record for their lowest Test score against India, which currently stands at 83.

That has stood since the Aussies were bowled out at the MCG back in the summer of 1980-81.

The hosts are currently 9-79.

ANOTHER WICKET FALLS!

Nathan Lyon departs for five and it’s disaster for the Aussies at 9-79.

Harshit Rana gets his second after a short delivery bobbed up and hit Lyon’s glove, caught by KL Rahul.

Australia trail by 71 runs with one wicket remaining...

Bit of spice!

Aussie fast bowler Mitchell Starc has offered some words of advice to Harshit Rana out in the middle.

After a couple of deliveries sailed close to Starc’s chin, he reminded his Indian counterpart he’s got a “long memory”.

“I bowl faster than you Harshit. I bowl faster than you. I’ve got a long memory,” Starc is heard saying in the stump mic.

He might be itching to get the new ball in his hands, but first Starc needs to add some much-needed runs to the tally alongsde Nathan Lyon.
