India are looking to grind Australia into dust in sweltering conditions on day three, can the Aussies claw their way back into the contest?

The Aussies looked lifeless yesterday and the pitch seems to have settled down. If they can’t break this mighty opening stand early it could be a long day in the field for the home side in the stifling heat.

Follow all the action live!

67th over - IND 1/216

Starc beats the edge of Padikkal who then flicks one fine for a single.

Good yorker. Jaiswal manages to just jam the bat down in time and pick up one.

66th over - IND 1/214

Pat Cummins replaces Hazlewood.

Padikkal dabs one behind point where Lyon gets a hand on it to keep it to one.

Beaten. Cummins sends one past Jaiswal’s edge off an attempted drive. There’s a no-ball as Jaiswal leaves the rest.

65th over - IND 1/212

Jaiswal looks like he’s going to cut lose as he flashes a cut that flies over slips for four to take the lead past 250.

He beats point to grab a couple then goes through the same area for one.

Paddikal is beaten outside off. He gets off the pair as he guides wide of gully for three.

64th over - IND 1/202

Paddikal comes in on a pair but with India in a commanding position but Jaiswal has the strike to Hazlewood.

Short and pulled forward of square for a single.

Paddikal leaves and defends his first two

Aussies finally breakthrough!

RUN-OUT MISSED. Rahul hits it to mid-on and Jaiswal had set off and is stranded. Cummins’ shy at the stumps just misses. How costly could that be?

A pair of singles follow.

A slight misfield in the covers allows a single and then an overthrow allows them to come back for a second to bring up 200.

OUT! Out of nowhere, Starc lands one on the right spot and Rahul tickles an edge through to Carey. Finally some respite for the Aussies.

Rahul shakes his head as he walks off for a well made 77

100 for Jaiswal!

EDGE. But it drops short of the slip cordon to save Jaiswal.

He defends one that bounces back at him.

WHAT A WAY TO BRING UP THE 100.

Jaiswal leans back and uppercuts Hazlewood and it flies into the rope for a six.

There’s a minor wait as they check the boundary but the crowd new it was six and he takes off his helmet and slautes the crowd. A masterful innings.

This is now the highest opening partnership for India in any Test in Australia, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar & Kris Srikkanth’s 191 from Sydney in 1986.

61st Over - IND 0/191

Drop and run single from Rahul.

Hit on the pads and there’s an appeal but height will be taking that over as India sneak a leg-bye.

60th over - IND 0/189

McSweeny puts in a great bit of fielding to save runs at gully.

Over pitched and Rahul drives through the covers for three.

59th over - IND 0/185

Starc on from the Member’s End.

SHOT. Full and Rahul crashes one through point for four.

AND AGAIN! Full again same shot but this one just slows in the outfield meaning Rahul only gets three.

FOUR MORE. Starc goes short this time and Jaiswal just leans back on it ramps it over slips for four.

BEATEN. Cracker that goes past Jaiswal’s drive.

And again as he flashes a cut but the bounce beats him. Eventful over.

58th over - IND 0/174

Jaiswal drops and runs into the off-side to get himself up and running.

Hazelwood goes past Rahul’s edge but he’s playing well inside the line.

Beaten! Rahul has a genuine poke at this one as the ball just misses the edge through to Carey.

McSweeney misfields at gulley to allow one to finish. Australia cannot let their heads drop in the field.
