Australia did it the hard way, but survived an almighty scare from Scotland to record a narrow win and save England from elimination at the T20 World Cup.

Recap the action in our blog below.

After 14 overs - Scotland 3-134

And off the first ball of the 15th... Mitch Marsh drops a very catchable catch off Maxwell’s bowling. And may have hurt his finger.

The captain’s hand appeared to get stuck in the turf as he dived forward to try to pouch it. He’s in a bit of pain.

There’s a review for LBW straight after, with the call not out, and it remains as replays show there was glove involved on the attempted sweep.

After 13 overs - Scotland 3-120

Eight off the Agar over through a variety of 1s and 2s.

Zampa, now the second-leading wicket-taker in the tournament, is out of the attack. He’s got one over left and has 1-18. It’s pace with Starc returning

After 12 overs - Scotland 3-112

Adam Zampa - ever the man for the white-ball occasion.

He makes the big breakthrough and goes for just a solitary run off that over. Australia looking to peg things back now as Agar returns

McMULLEN GOES!

That’s the big one for Australia!

Zampa strikes, with McMullen slicing one to Starc at short third.

The TV umpire checks the hands are indeed under the ball, and it’s the end of a brilliant knock. 60 off just 34 balls, with a whopping six sixes.

Scotland 3-111 as Matthew Cross comes to the wicket.

After 11 overs - Scotland 2-111

McMullen is LOVING life playing straight!

He goes down the track to Maxwell and again over long-off, clearing the man there by a few metres.

Maxwell has 1-41 after three at almost 14 per over... Zampa (0-17 off 2) resumes.

After 10 overs - Scotland 2-96

Hell of a first half of the innings from the Scots.

They struggled in the first couple of overs and then burst to life, with McMullen in particular brutal on anything with width - and some without.

He’s 53 off 30 and primed to keep putting the foot down.

What total makes England nervous here? 170? 180? More? They appear well in play...

BREAKTHROUGH

The partnership is finally broken!

After putting on 89, the Aussies have a breakthrough - Munsey is gone for 35.

After another slog sweep for six, Munsey tries again to one that was steered a bit wider and slower from Maxwell and is caught in the deep by Ellis.

Safe to say the Aussies - and moreso, the English - needed that. It’s 2-92 after 9 as Richie Berrington comes to the crease.

End of eighth over - Scotland 1-83

McMullen is HUNGRY - and feasting on the Aussie attack!

It’s a fifth six, down the ground and over long-off. Here’s a pure striker and is threatening to take the game away from the Aussies a bit here.

50 up for the right-hander off just 26 balls - the fastest for Scotland at a World Cup.

CLEAN HITTING

This is sensational from Scotland!

The England camp are getting more nervous by the second as McMullen creams his fourth six of the evening, with a large slog sweep off Agar that’s going to force a ball replacement.

Unreal hitting that has Scotland tracking for a total of some real significance here...

End of seventh over - Scotland 1-67

Even Zampa is getting treatment!

Australia’s bowling star is taken for 13 off his first over, including another stunning down-the-ground six from McMullen.

Agar back into the attack
